What SuperNodes do

SuperNodes provide protocol services, including Cascade storage. They handle service workloads while validators secure consensus and produce blocks.

A SuperNode is paired with a validator but operates on a separate server, with its own account and keys.

Operators should confirm which services are enabled on their chosen network and software release before planning workloads.

Participation requirements

The documented prerequisites include:

• A Lumera validator in a bonded state.
• A dedicated SuperNode server.
• Access to the validator operator key for registration.
• Sufficient qualifying stake.
• The ability to monitor, maintain, and upgrade the deployment.

New operators should practice on testnet before moving to production.
